LINN COUNTY, IA : Authorities ID motorcyclist killed in Linn County crash on Friday, July 7, 2017

Authorities have identified the man who died Friday night after his motorcycle collided with a car in Linn County.

Linn County sheriff’s deputies said in a news release that the crash happened just before 8 p.m. at the intersection of Paris Road and Buffalo Drive.

The motorcyclist, 23-year-old Dillan Sackett, of Central City, was westbound on Paris Road when a car, driven by 56-year-old Sandra Lennox, of Coggon, turned left in front of him onto Buffalo Drive, the deputies said.

Sackett was pronounced dead at the scene. Lennox suffered minor injuries.

Authorities are investigating the crash.
