KATU News received a video from a viewer whose dashcam video captured the entire crash, which was reported just after 8 a.m. Tuesday. The video shows a silver sedan crossing the median on St. Johns Bridge and crashing into a pickup truck.
Pete Simpson with Portland Police told KATU the driver of the sedan, 26-year-old Damaris Maxie, remained on scene, but fled during the insurance information exchange. Simpson said Maxie jumped into another car and went to the eastside of the bridge where police arrested her following a brief struggle.
She was charged with failure to perform duties of a driver and resisting arrest.
