York, PA : North Codorus man, 77, dies in Spring Garden crash on April, Monday 3rd 2017
A 77-year-old man died in a two-vehicle crash Monday evening in Spring Garden Township, according to the York County Coroner's Office.
Walter Spangler, of North Codorus Township, was pronounced dead at the scene soon after the crash, the coroner's office said in a news release.
Spangler's pickup truck was struck by another vehicle just before 6 p.m. Monday on Edgecomb Avenue, at the intersection with Lancaster Avenue, according to the coroner's office.
The impact caused the truck to roll three times before landing on its roof and hitting a parked, unoccupied pickup, the release said.
Spangler, who was driving, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:10 p.m., the release states. He was the only person in the truck.
"It is possible that a medical event may have occurred just prior to the crash," the release states.
An autopsy conducted Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown concluded Spangler died from blunt force trauma to the neck, and the manner was accidental.
?The other driver involved was not taken to the hospital, the release said.
Spring Garden Township Police are investigating.
