Columbus, OH : Wyoming police are investigating after a fatal accident on Sunday, July 9, 2017

Wyoming police are investigating after a fatal accident on Sunday evening.

According to police, the accident happened around 5:30 p.m. at 81 Mount Pleasant Avenue.

Police said a Mustang, being driven by a 51-year-old man, was traveling westbound when he lost control of the vehicle and ran off the roadway onto the property of the Wyoming Golf Club.

The vehicle struck a guardrail and flipped on its top, according to police.

City of Wyoming Police Chief said the passenger, Father Chris Coleman, 50, of Our Lady of the Rosary Church died due to injuries in the crash.

The driver has not been identified and refused treatment for his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
