Great Falls, MT : Two killed in head-on crash, one from Great Falls on Saturday, February 4th 2017
Two women, one of whom was from Great Falls, were killed in a head-on collision near Busby Saturday morning.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened just before 11 a.m. at mile marker 25 on U.S. Highway 212 in Big Horn County.
A Volvo driven by a 74 year old Lame Deer man was westbound toward Hardin. He attempted to pass another vehicle and did not see a vehicle coming toward him in the eastbound lane because of snow and poor visibility. The two vehicles collided head-on.
The second vehicle, a Subaru, was driven by a 40 year old female from Great Falls with a 34 year old female passenger from Billings. Both women were killed in the crash. Neither was wearing a seat belt.
The Lame Deer man and his 35 year old passenger, also from Lame Deer, were wearing their seat belts and sustained unknown injuries.
Alcohol and drugs are suspected to be factors in this crash. It was fatality eight and nine on Montana roadways in 2017.
