Overton, NV : Michael West Owen, 57, died in motorcycle crash on State Route 169 near Overton on Sunday, May 10, 2015

The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that claimed the life of a man on a motorcycle on State Route 169 near Overton about 60 miles northeast of Las Vegas.

Trooper Chelsea Stuenkel says rescue crews were called to the crash near mile marker 8 shortly after 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

The victim was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle. No other vehicles were involved and investigators say they don't know what caused the wreck.

A stretch of the highway about 25 miles east of U.S. Interstate 15 was closed in both directions for a few hours.

The name of the victim has not been released.
