Fairfax, VA : Woman struck and killed on Red Bank Road on Monday November 16 2015

Police have identified the woman who was killed attempting to cross Red Bank Road in Fairfax Monday night.
Kimberly Seiter of Madisonville was struck by a truck and killed crossing the road near the Erie Avenue overpass just before 8:15 p.m., police said.
Officers responded to the scene and found that Seiter had been dragged underneath a Ford F150, Cincinnati police Lt. Michael Fern said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Red Bank Road was completely closed in the area of Brotherton Road, Erie Avenue and Murray Road for several hours.
Fern said the driver was fully cooperating with police and was visibly shaken by the accident.
Fairfax police reported that they do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
There is a not a crosswalk in the area were Seiter was crossing. Fern said the wet roads and poorly lit section of the road under Erie Avenue may have been contributed to the accident.
The accident occurred just outside the city limits, but Fairfax police requested the Cincinnati Traffic Unit investigate the scene.
Fern said it was too early in the investigation to determine if any charges would be pressed against the driver. The traffic unit will complete a full investigation of the scene and turn their findings over to Fairfax police, who will make the decision on whether legal action is necessary.
