OMAHA, NE : 15-year-old boy charged in South Omaha crash that killed 1, injured 5 others on Wednesday, 25th September 2024

A 15-year-old has been taken into custody in connection to a South Omaha crash that killed another teen and injured five others earlier this week.

The boy is being lodged at the Douglas County Youth Center and is being charged as an adult with one count of manslaughter.

Police responded to the scene near South 37th and X Street just after 3 a.m. Monday and arrived to find a stolen Hyundai Sonata flipped on its side and several injured teens.

A 14-year-old boy was partially ejected from the front passenger seat and died shortly after being transported to Nebraska Medicine with critical injuries.
