Sarasota County, FL : Women seriously injured in I-75 crash Tuesday afternoon on July 22, 2014
Two California women were taken to Blake Regional Medical Center with serious injuries after the car they were in overturned on Interstate 75 Tuesday at noon.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers said Chelsea Browne, 23, of Escondido, California, was driving a 1998 Mercury north on I-75 near mile marker 200 when a red car passed.
As the red car passed, Browne allegedly veered to the left onto the grassy median, which caused Browne's car to rotate to the left, FHP reports.
Browne turned sharply to attempt to regain control of her car, but ended up rotating to the right.
The median's slope caused Browne's car to overturn once before it came to a rest on its right side facing east.
Browne and her passenger, 59-year-old Theresa Browne, also of Escondido, were taken to Blake Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
