Lafayette Township, OH : Woman dies after three-car crash in Medina County on Friday afternoon, October 17, 2014
A woman has died after a three car accident in Medina County Friday afternoon.
Tara Green, 21, of Burbank was LifeFlighted to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where she died.
According to the Medina Post of the State Highway Patrol, Noah T. Silcox, 20, of Westfield Center was driving a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound on U.S. Route 42 about 3:45 p.m. when he attempted to pass another southbound vehicle.
As he was passing, he struck 1 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Jordan R. Howell, 23, of Lodi.
Silcox continued on, also striking a 2000 Chevrolet Lumina driven by Teresa L. Green, 40, of Medina.
Silcox was taken to Lodi Hospital with injuries that aren't life-threatening.
Howell and his passenger, John E. Howell, 59, were taken to Medina General Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
Teresa Green and her passenger, Tara Green, 21, were both LifeFlighted to MetroHealth, where Tara died from her injuries.
The crash remains under investigation, but the Highway Patrol says alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors.
The Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Medina County Sheriff's Office, the Erhart Fire Department, the Chatham Fire Department, the Lafayette Fire Department and the Medina Life Support Team.
