WINCHESTER, VA : Driver seriously injured in head-on crash on Thursday, November, 30th 2017

A driver was seriously injured in a head-on crash between a car and a van across from the Holiday Inn at 333 Front Royal Pike (U.S. 522) about 4:50 p.m. today.

The woman, who state police did not identify, was hospitalized at Winchester Medical Center. The driver of the Blue Ridge Hospice Thrift Shop van said he was traveling southbound and had stopped and was about to turn left into a warehouse.

He said he and his passenger saw a black car swerve toward them.

“The passenger said, ‘Watch out.’ And two seconds after that we were hit head on,” said the driver of the van, who did not identify himself. “She didn’t even hit the brakes.”
