Lynnwood, WA : Motorcyclist dies after I-5 crash at Lynnwood on Thursday morning, September 4, 2014
A motorcyclist has died after crashing into a car on Interstate 5 at Lynnwood, the Washington State Patrol reports. Two northbound lanes of the freeway have reopened as troopers wrap up their on-scene investigation.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene, the northbound lanes of I-5 near 164th Street SW, at about 8:15 a.m. Thursday after receiving reports of a crash.
The motorcyclist was found with critical injuries and CPR was started. Medics placed him in an ambulance, but he died on the way to the hospital.
A preliminary investigation found that the rider was heading north on a Suzuki motorcycle when he rear-ended a Toyota Corolla.
Two of the freeway's northbound lanes were closed for about three hours after the crash, reopening by about 11:15 a.m.
