NEAR SPRINGFIELD, MO : Driver dies in wrong-way crash north of Springfield Mo on Tuesday, 24th September 2024

A driver from Elkland, Mo., died in a wrong-way crash on U.S. 65 north of Springfield.

Troopers identified the victim as Harold R. Williams, 79. He died from his injuries at a Springfield hospital.

Troopers responded to the crash around 9:50 p.m., Tuesday, about five miles north of Springfield. Investigators say Williams was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes and struck a vehicle head-on.

The other driver suffered serious injuries in the crash.
