Fort Thomas, AZ : Arden Rambler Jr., 34, died in a car crash on U.S. Highway 70 early Saturday morning, May 21, 2016

Arden Rambler Jr., 34, of Fort Thomas, died early Saturday morning from injuries sustained in a car crash.

According to a release from Arizona Department of Public Safety Public Information Officer Quentin G. Mehr, Rambler was eastbound on U.S. Highway 70 in a Mercury passenger vehicle at milepost 310 near Fort Thomas, when he suddenly swerved over the centerline into the oncoming traffic lanes.

Rambler then struck the side of a westbound commercial semi-truck and trailer driven by Robert Mason, 67, of Silver City, N.M. Mason was not injured in the collision.

Fort Thomas Rescue and Pima Rescue were paged to the scene at about 3:08 a.m., but Rambler succumbed to his injuries on-site. His passenger, Pearl Rope, 42, of Bylas, was flown from the scene to Banner University Medical Center in Tucson by LifeNet 8 out of Cochise County. Rope was treated for her injuries and discharged.

Deputies from the Graham County Sheriff’s Office and employees of the Arizona Department of Transportation were deployed to the scene to assist with traffic control.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
