BOSCOBEL, WI : Woman injured in bike crash arrested for driving drunk from Boscobel hospital on Thursday, 26th July 2018

Authorities said an intoxicated woman injured in a bicycle crash was arrested Thursday after she drove from a Boscobel hospital over the objections of staff members.

Michelle Bunck, 45, of Blue River, was cited with second-offense operating while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle without insurance, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Department.

A press release states that the department was notified after Bunck drove away from Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics at about 11:30 p.m. Thursday “after being asked not to drive several times.” Authorities said she was intoxicated when she came to the emergency room for treatment.

A deputy pulled her over on Wisconsin 133 east of Boscobel just minutes later. She admitted that she had been drinking earlier and that she went to the hospital for treatment after she fell off her bicycle and hit her head, the release states. It said Bunck was “belligerent and uncooperative” during the traffic stop.

She was taken back to the hospital for a blood test and later released to a responsible party, the release states.
