Warren,MA : 1 dead in Warren wreck on December, Saturday 2nd 2017

A 62-year-old Warren man died in a car crash on Main Street in West Warren about 5 p.m. Saturday.

Edward Stawiarz was taken by Warren Fire Department ambulance, with the assistance of paramedics from Ware Fire Department, to Baystate Mary Lane Hospital in Ware, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

A witness to the crash told police that Mr. Stawiarz’s 2005 Pontiac Vibe was moving slowly east on Main Street (Route 67) when the light at South Street turned red. The witness said Mr. Stawiarz continued through the light, and his car soon veered onto a sidewalk and up an embankment before striking a Verizon utility box.

Officers found Mr. Stawiarz unresponsive in the car; firefighters and emergency medical technicians performed CPR at the scene, police said.

The road was closed for more than three hours while police investigated.
