Charlotte, N.C : Firefighters rescue trapped driver in uptown Charlotte crash on Wednesday morning, January 7, 2015

Emergency crews had to rescue a person who was trapped inside their car after a bad crash in uptown Charlotte Wednesday morning.
The wreck happened on East 9th Street near college Street around 9:20 a.m.
It took nearly 10 minutes for Charlotte firefighters to free the driver. Paramedics then rushed that person to Carolinas Medical Center.
The extent of their injuries was not immediately available
