CHARLOTTE, NC : Man charged with fatal crash in the 2100 block of Runnymede Lane on Saturday, 28th July 2018

Officials responded to a fatal crash in south Charlotte Saturday night.
The crash happened at 11:38 p.m. in the 2100 block of Runnymede Lane. Upon arrival officers say they located a 2010 Ford Escape and a 2006 Subaru that collided in the road.
Medic responded and the driver of the Escape, later identified as Juan Octavio Reyes, was pronounced dead. A passenger in the same car was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the of the Subaru was also transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, a report stated.
An investigation revealed the Escape was traveling north on Runnymede Lane when the Subaru crossed the double yellow lines driving at a high rate of speed.
Officials say Jimmy Gallarday was charged with felony death by vehicle and two counts of felony serious injury by vehicle.
