Frankfort, KY : A Breckinridge County man was injured after a semi tractor-trailer and a dump truck collided on Wednesday, August 2, 2017
A Breckinridge County man was injured after a semi tractor-trailer and a dump truck collided at the Short Creek intersection in Falls of Rough on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 3.
At around 4:58 p.m. on Wednesday, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO), Kentucky State Police, Grayson County EMS, and Falls of Rough Volunteer Fire Department responded to the Short Creek intersection of Highways 54 and 79 on a report of an injury accident.
Prior to the crash, an RC Cola semi, driven by Josh Gossett, of Sacramento, KY, exited the Marathon gas station near the intersection of Highways 54 and 79 and headed south on Hwy 79 to the intersection, according to investigating GCSO Deputy Taylor Logsdon.
Gossett reportedly did not see a dump truck, driven by Thomas Clemons, of McDaniels, KY, and owned by D.L. Tucker Farm, LLC out of Leitchfield, heading east on Hwy 54 at the time, Logsdon said.
The RC Cola truck then entered the intersection and the path of the dump truck, causing a collision that resulted in both vehicles coming to a rest in a nearby creek, according to Logsdon.
Clemons was injured in the crash and transported from the scene by Grayson County EMS to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center to receive medical treatment.
Gossett declined medical treatment from EMS at the scene, but, Logsdon said, he was expected to go to the hospital by private means to be checked out.
