PORTLAND, OR : 12-year-old Lake Oswego girl, mom killed in crash on Sunday, December, 24th 2017

A mother and her 12-year-old daughter were killed in a crash on Christmas Day on Highway 26.

Oregon State Police say 48-year-old Dierdre Lynn Mackey was driving a 2008 Nissan Versa when she lost traction and crossed into the path on an oncoming 2018 Subaru Outback near milepost 65 in Wasco County, just east of the intersection of Hwy 35.

She and her daughter, who was in the front passenger seat, were killed.

The driver of the Subaru and a passenger in the car were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officials say driving too fast for the conditions is a factor in the crash.
