THE VILLAGES, FL : The Villages cyclist dies after crash on Friday, 10th April, 2020

A Villages bicyclist died Friday after colliding with a parked van, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The 82-year-old man, Kenneth Khus, was riding his bicycle westbound on San Marino Drive near Juanita Court just before the accident at 2:40 p.m., troopers wrote in a release sent to media. According to the FHP investigation, Khus failed to spot a Chevrolet van that was parked along his path, facing west, with traffic cones behind it.

Khus collided with the rear of the van and sustained critical injuries, FHP troopers wrote in the report. He was transported to UF Health The Villages Hospital, where he later died.

Nothing out of the ordinary was noted in the report.
