A man died when a tire came off a trailer being hauled by a pickup truck and crashed into the windshield of his car Friday morning on Route 28, police said. The victim was identified as Robert Lofink, 75, of Gibsonia. Northbound lanes of Route 28 were blocked for several hours while police investigated the fatal crash near the Shaler Water Facility. The driver, identified as Eric Gonzalez-Huerta, 23, was handcuffed and taken to the Shaler Township police station after his white Ford F-450 was pulled over. Investigators said Gonzalez-Huerta is an illegal immigrant who had no valid license and no insurance on the truck. Source : Tire falls off, hits car, killing 1 on Route 28
