MEMPHIS, TN : Driver charged in fatal DUI crash on Sunday January 3 2016.

A man accused of lying about who drove the car that caused a deadly accident is being bars.
Just before midnight Sunday, police responded to the crash on Interstate 240 near the Highway 385 ramp. According to police, the car hit a guardrail on the north side of I-240, crossed the road, then sideswiped the guardrail on the other side of the road. The car then traveled across the interstate once more where it stopped against the north guardrail.
The passenger was pronounced dead on the scene.
Ariel Munoz told police that the driver of the crash ran into the woods, but police could not find anyone there.
Later, police determined that Munoz was, in fact, the driver of the car. Officers also said he smelled like an unidentified intoxicant.
Munoz was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide while intoxicated, failure to exercise due care, driving without insurance, and driving without a license.
