Fort Myers, FL : One person injured afetr a Serious crash in Cape Coral on Saturday morning, February 4, 2017

Cape Coral police are investigating a crash that sent one person to the hospital with serious injuries Saturday morning.

Officers found that 81-year-old Thomas Hierspiel, of Cape Coral, violated the right-of-way of 55-year-old Linda Diane Long when he turned in front of her Kia Sedona as she traveled west on NE Pine Island Road.

The crash occurred at 9:20 a.m. at NE Pine Island Road and Hibiscus Drive. Hierspiel was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Long suffered minor injuries in the crash.

There have been zero traffic fatalities in Cape Coral this year.
