Great Falls, MT : One killed in Silverbow County highway accident on Saturday, March 18th 2017
One person was killed and another injured in a two-vehicle traffic accident near Rocker at mile marker 122 in Silver Bow County early Saturday morning.
According to Montana Highway Patrol, a 37-year-old Idaho male was driving a Subaru Legacy with a 34-year-old female passenger when the vehicle ran out of gas at around 1 a.m.
The driver exited the Subaru and attempted to push the disabled vehicle off the road and was struck by a semi. The Subaru was also hit with the passenger inside.
The semi driver, a 34-year-old Idaho male, attempted to maneuver to the left to avoid contact but was unable to do so.
The man struck by the semi was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger was taken to St. James Hospital in Butte with injuries.
Road conditions were not considered to be a factor as the roads were bare and dry, according to MHP.
