Knoxville, TN : Woman on cell phone hit in crosswalk near Fort Sanders on Tuesday, October 21, 2014

A woman was rushed to U.T. Medical Center after she was hit by a vehicle on 22nd Street near White Avenue around 6:40 a.m. Tuesday. Police say 21-year-old Zachery Cooper, of Knoxville, was driving north when his car went over a hill and hit 52-year-old Kathy Fowler, of Kingston, who was in the crosswalk. Investigators say Fowler told them she was not watching traffic because she was on her cell phone. Fowler has non-life threatening injuries. No charges will be filed.
