Riverview, FL : 43-year-old Valrico man died in motorcycle crash on U.S. 301 on Friday, December 25, 2015

A 43-year-old Valrico man is dead after a car drove into the path of his motorcycle on Friday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The motorcyclist, Louis Matthew Bruno, was pronounced dead at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa after the 2:51 p.m. crash. He was not wearing a helmet, FHP said.

Troopers said the incident started when Carole Sue Rink, 82, of Brandon, was driving a 2009 Chevy Impala southbound on U.S. 301 in the left turning lane to Summerfield Square Drive.

Bruno, on a 2012 Vico motorcycle, was traveling north in the center lane. The car turned into the path of the bike, according to the FHP, and the front of the motorcycle struck the passenger side of the Chevy Impala.

Rink had a 15-year-old passenger with her in the car. Both were wearing seat belts and were treated for minor injuries at St. Joseph's Hospital, according to FHP.

Troopers said charges are pending in the crash.
