Erie, PA : Erie man charged in Harborcreek crash on April, Sunday 16th 2017
An Erie man faces aggravated assault and other charges after state police said he struck a man with his car and injured the victim in the parking lot of a Harborcreek Township apartment complex early Sunday morning.
Khalil R. Aviles, 21, was in the Erie County Prison Monday on $50,000 bond following his arraignment Sunday by Millcreek Township District Judge Paul Manzi on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence, DUI, simple assault, recklessly endangering and reckless driving.
State police charge that Aviles was under the influence when the Ford Taurus he was reportedly driving aggressively around the parking lot of the University Gates Apartments, on Station Road, struck a man and knocked him to the ground at about 2:25 a.m. Sunday. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment, according to information in the criminal complaint, but details on the extent of his injuries were unavailable Monday.
