MANDAREE, ND : 30-year-old man dies after head-on collision in western North Dakota on Thursday, 17th January 2019

A 30-year-old Alexander man has died from injuries suffered in a head-on collision early Thursday, Jan. 17, about 10 miles west of Mandaree.

Bryan Ray Walker was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on Bear Den Road at about 7 a.m. when it collided with another pickup that slid around a curve into his lane traveling eastbound, the North Dakota Highway Patrol said.

That vehicle was driven by 53-year-old Robert James Willey, who suffered minor injuries and was transported to the McKenzie County Hospital. Willey was wearing a seat belt.

Walker, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported to a Dickinson hospital where he died, the patrol said. Willey's passenger, Eduardo Salinas, 18, was not wearing a seat belt and was uninjured.

Mandaree is about 80 miles southeast of Williston.
