Sarasota County, FL : Two people injured in 4-car crash on University Parkway on Tuesday morning, July 28, 2015
Two passengers were injured in a chain-reaction four-vehicle accident Tuesday morning on University Parkway near the Honore Avenue intersection.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol:
Eastbound traffic on University Parkway slowed at about 10:15 a.m. because of heavy traffic.
A 1995 Chevy Tahoe driven by Jennifer Acker, 24, of Sarasota attempted to stop but began to hydroplane. Acker's vehicle veered to the right and collided with the left front of 2010 Toyota Tacoma driven by Jeffrey Bloch, 55, of North Port. Bloch's truck then collided with the rear of a 2013 Chrysler driven by Zachary Gamble, 31, of Bradenton. The force of the collision caused the straps on a 2009 Mercedes-Benz being towed to come loose, damaging that vehicle, as well.
A passenger in Acker's car, Charisse Coull, 58, of Sarasota, was injured in the crash. She was in serious condition at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center.
Bloch was also seriously injured in the accident.
