Enid, OK : Terry Connor, 35, injured in a single-vehicle crash involving child on 412 east of Enid on Thursday, November 20, 2014
Alcohol is listed as the cause of a single-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon on U.S. 412 that involved an Enid man and juvenile, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Terry Connor, 35, was taken from the scene of the 2:41 p.m. crash — a half mile west of 138th on U.S. 412 — by ambulance to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, according to an OHP report. Connor was treated for a head injury and admitted in stable condition.
The juvenile also was transported “as a preventative measure” and was not injured.
Connor was westbound on U.S. 412, with a juvenile passenger, traveling at a high rate of speed on a flat tire, according to the patrol. Connor lost control, crossed the median and departed the roadway to the left, striking a fence.
Connor was pinned for about 25 minutes before being freed by Garber Fire Department.
The report lists Connor’s condition as “drinking-ability impaired” and the cause of the crash as “alcohol-DUI.” Connor was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The juvenile was secured in a child restraint.
