Frankfort, KY : One killed after being hit by another vehicle on Interstate 64 in central Kentucky on Tuesday morning, November 18, 2014
Authorities have reopened most lanes on Interstate 64 in central Kentucky after a truck hauling cattle overturned.
Media report the accident happened Tuesday morning near the 53 mile marker and lanes in both directions were initially closed because about 15 cows got loose.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says the trailer was carrying about 110 head of cattle. Some were killed in the crash and at least one was killed after being hit by another vehicle.
Deputies worked with other first responders and area farmers to round up the ones that got loose.
The sheriff's office says the driver, who wasn't injured, told deputies he fell asleep at the wheel.
