ANDERSON COUNTY, SC : Driver dies in single-vehicle crash in Anderson on Tuesday, 29th August 2023

A driver died Tuesday night in a single-vehicle crash in Anderson.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened on Cathey Road near Hillcrest Court around 9:45 p.m.

Troopers said a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling west when it traveled off the right side of the road, hit a culvert, overturned and then hit a tree.

The Anderson County Coroner’s Office has identified the driver as 52-year-old Clinton Russell Ooten II, of Anderson.

The investigation showed that alcohol was a factor in the crash according to the coroner.

The crash remains an ongoing investigation by the Anderson County Office of the Coroner and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
