Winnetka, IL : Park Ridge man dead after single-vehicle crash in Wauconda on Saturday night, March 18, 2017
A Park Ridge man was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle crash Saturday night in Wauconda, police said.
James T. Horan, 60, of Park Ridge, was driving a 2005 Acura TL eastbound on Route 176, just east of Ivanhoe Road, when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole, Sgt. Christopher Covelli, a spokesman for the Lake County Sheriff's Office, said in an email.
Emergency personnel responding to the scene around 10:10 p.m. Saturday found extensive damage to the Acura, as well as the utility pole, which caused a power outage in the area, according to a news release. Horan was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was the only occupant, Covelli said.
The crash is being investigated by the Lake County Sheriff's Office Technical Crash Investigation Unit.
