EASTON, MD : A head-on collision on Tuesday, October 3, 2017
A head-on collision on Three Bridge Branch Road around noon on Tuesday, Oct. 3, sent two drivers to two hospitals.
Barbara Falcey, 62, of Cordova was taken by Maryland State Police helicopter to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
Deborah Asmussen, 80, of Trappe was taken by Easton Emergency Services to the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton.
Both women had non-life-threatening injuries, said Talbot County Sheriff’s Deputy Cpl. L. Parks at the scene.
The accident occurred at about 12:09 p.m. on a fairly straight stretch of road at 11255 Three Bridge Branch Road just north of Cordova Road between Easton and Cordova.
Parks said Falcey was driving south in a tan 2007 Toyota Highlander and drifted across the double yellow lines, hitting “square-on” a maroon Toyota Highlander traveling north driven by Asmussen.
Both drivers wore seatbelts, and the airbags deployed in both sport utility vehicles. Charges are pending in the case.
Nearly 20 first responders and nine emergency vehicles from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Services, as well as the Easton Volunteer Fire Department, arrived shortly after the accident.
The MSP Medevac helicopter arrived at 12:52 p.m., landing in a grassy meadow across the road.
