Woolwich, ME : Four people injured one critically in Route 1 crash in Woolwich on Monday, 15th July 2019
Four people were injured, one critically, in a four-vehicle crash Monday on Route 1 near the Taste of Maine restaurant in Woolwich.
A rental truck headed north “appears to have crossed the centerline, hitting a Subaru and then two others behind that vehicle,” Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Brett Strout said. The crash was reported at 6:50 a.m.Barry Wyman, 57, of Woolwich, was listed in critical condition at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Strout said Monday afternoon.
Strout said a Penske cargo van driven by William Young, 55, of Topsham, was traveling north on Route 1 when it crossed the centerline and struck the southbound Subaru Forester driven by Wyman. Wyman had to be cut free of the Subaru, Woolwich Fire Chief Michael Demers said.
