Mandarin, FL : Jacksonville resident killed in Mandarin car crash on midnight Saturday, August 23, 2014
A 26-year-old Jacksonville resident died around midnight Saturday in a crash at a San Jose Boulevard on-ramp to Interstate 295 in Mandarin, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Philmore Courtney Dillon Jr. was pronounced dead at UF Health Jacksonville hospital.
A passenger in the car, 23-year-old Timothy Nou of Jacksonville, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Baptist South Hospital.
Both Dillon and Nou were wearing seat belts.
The crash occurred when Dillon was driving north on San Jose Boulevard. The Honda Civic entered the on-ramp to I-295 but then veered off the roadway and struck a tree, the accident report said.
