HAMPTON, VA : 38-year-old man killed in broad daylight in Hampton on Sunday, 19th May 2024

A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found shot multiple times in Hampton Sunday afternoon.

In a social media post, the Hampton Police Division (HPD) shared that officers had responded to Catalpa Avenue, just off Victoria Boulevard for a report of a shooting.

Upon arriving at the scene shortly after 12:30 p.m., HPD said officers found a 38-year-old man who had been shot multiple times lying in the roadway. The victim, later identified as Derrick Lindsay, was pronounced dead at the scene.
