Houston, TX : 3 dead, 1 injured in Beaumont crash on Sunday, 2nd October 2016
Three people died in a fiery collision of a pickup truck and a car at a busy intersection near the Lamar University campus in Beaumont.
On social media, family members identified two of the victims as Bethany Beck, 44, and Joshawa Beck, 25, a mother and son with ties to Baytown.
The crash happened about 1 a.m. Sunday. A Beaumont police statement said officers arrived to find both vehicles sandwiched together and burning. After dousing the fire with fire extinguishers from their patrol cars, the officers found two people dead in the car and one person dead and one alive but injured in the truck.
The injured person was taken about 80 miles to a hospital in Houston, which has the closest trauma unit.
Police haven’t said yet how the crash happened, and no department has officially released any of the victims’ identities.
