Kansas City ,Mo : Royals' Gordon injured in collision with wall on Wednesday night ,july 8th 2015

Kansas City Royals All-Star and Gold Glove left fielder Alex Gordon was removed by a cart from the field in the fourth inning on Wednesday night after banging into the wall while chasing a fly ball.

The team later announced Gordon sustained a left groin strain. He was headed for an MRI exam to determine the severity of the injury.

Gordon, who had seven hits and six RBIs in a doubleheader on Tuesday, lay on the warning track as Rays first baseman James Loney circled the bases for an inside-the-park home run.

The Royals' trainer, team physician Vincent Key and manager Ned Yost immediately ran to Gordon's aid. After several minutes, Gordon was taken from the field.
