MERIDEN, CT : Two injured after crash on East Main Street in Meriden on Sunday, November 13th 2016

Two people suffered minor injuries after a collision Sunday morning on East Main Street at Preston Avenue.

The accident happened about 11:20 a.m. Police said a witness reported a station wagon was driving west on East Main Street and ran a red light before hitting a car turning onto East Main Street from Preston Avenue.The cars collided, causing the car from Preston Avenue to veer off near the traffic light and the station wagon to go over a grassy area and strike a pole.

The driver of the station wagon was taken to Hartford Hospital with a possible neck injury and the driver of the other car was taken to MidState Medical Center with minor injuries, police said.
