Tahlequah man killed in single-vehicle accident in Stilwell Oklahoma
A Tahlequah man was killed Thursday when the car he was riding in struck a tree.
Robert Slinker, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene on U.S. 59 three miles north of Stilwell, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol accident report.
Slinker was a passenger in a 2000 Ford ZX2, driven by Starla Duncan, that veered left and hit a tree for an unknown reason around 7:30 p.m., troopers said.
Duncan, a 36-year-old Stilwell resident, was flown by medical helicopter to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark., where she was admitted in critical condition, the report states.
Slinker was wearing a seat belt, and Duncan was not.
