Sherman, TX : Woman transported by air ambulance after Sherman crash on Monday, November 21st, 2016

A woman was flown to the hospital after her vehicle struck a power pole on West Houston Street Monday morning.Sherman Police said the Toyota Camry was traveling westbound and veered off the roadway to the left side for an unknown reason. At about 8:15 a.m., the Camry struck a power pole in the 1200 block of West Houston Street.

Police said the vehicle flipped, and the car came to stop right side up facing east. An air ambulance responded and landed in the parking lot near Westwood Village Shopping Center. The woman was transported by helicopter to the Medical Center of Plano, and police said her injuries appeared severe.

No other vehicles were involved and no one else was in the car. The section of West Houston Street was closed for more than an hour as crews cleared the scene and police investigated the crash.
