Cedar Fort, UT : Three people injured in a semi vs. car crash on SR 73 in Utah County on Thursday, Sep 24, 2015
Three people were injured, two seriously, when a car and semi-trailer rig collided on State Road 73, just south of Cedar Fort, in Utah County, at about noon Thursday.
Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said details on what caused the red Ford Mustang to collide with the big rig at 11:53 a.m. were unclear and still under investigation.
The collision caused the semi, hauling a load of plastic rolls, to tip over, blocking both lanes of the road.
The male driver was taken to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray by helicopter; a passenger, gender unknown, was transported to a hospital by ambulance. Both were listed in serious condition.
Royce said the semi's driver was treated at the scene for minor bumps, scrapes and bruises.
