Whitestown, NY : Two people injured after Judd Road crash on Wednesday afternoon, August 17, 2016
A three-vehicle crash took place Wednesday afternoon on Judd Road, according to town police.
At around 4:09 p.m., Whitestown police responded to the intersection of Judd and Valley roads and learned that Shawn Krol, 20, of Whitesboro, was attempting to make a left turn from Valley Road onto Judd Road when the vehicle entered the path of a northbound car being operated by Jessica Lewis, 23, of Utica, resulting in a head-on collision, police said.
The third vehicle, operated by Khalid Abuzaid, 49, was southbound on Judd Road and was unable to avoid the crash, police said. That vehicle also struck Lewis' car.
Abuzaid and his two passengers, Dwayne White and No Mya, both of Utica, suffered minor injuries and were taken to St. Lukes Campus of the Mohawk Valley health System via Central Oneida County Ambulance.
Krol also was taken to the St. Luke's Campus via Central Oneida County Ambulance for apparent minor injuries, police said.
Lewis was taken to the St. Elizabeth Campus of the MVHS via Central Oneida County Ambulance for injuries to her neck, back, abdomen and face, police said, adding the injuries did not appear life-threatening.
Everyone was wearing seat belt and airbags were triggered in each vehicle.
Officer F.S. McCully issued a ticket to Krol for failure to yield while making a left turn, police said.
Whitestown police were assisted by members of the Oriskany Fire Department, Whitesboro Fire Department, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, Oneida County Office of Emergency Services and the New York State Police.
