Four people had minor injuries after a three-car crash on state Route 23 in the town of Stamford on Monday, Delaware County deputies said.

Kevin Mathew, 23, of New City, was driving west on Route 23 when his vehicle crossed the double yellow line and struck a vehicle driving by William Eklund, 37, of Stamford, deputies said in a media release issued Wednesday morning.

The collision caused Eklund’s vehicle to spin completely around in the roadway and strike a car parked on the side of the road containing Margaret Smith, 62, of Otego, according to a media release.

All parties involved and a passenger from Mathew's vehicle were taken to A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta, the release said.

Mathew was issued traffic summonses for failure to keep right and speed not reasonable and prudent, deputies said, and he is to appear in Harpersfield Town Court on at 7 p.m. June 27.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by Stamford fire and emergency medical service crews, Hobart EMS and Cooperstown Medical Transport.
