MILFORD, CT : Milford police officer hurt after chase on Sunday, November, 5th 2017

Five men being pursued after allegedly holding up a birthday party in Bridgeport at gunpoint injured a police officer and two residents here during their getaway on Sunday.
Police public information officer Mike DeVito said the on-duty officer, whose identity was not released, had her lights and sirens activated enroute to help Milford and Brideport officers arrest several armed suspects at Bridgeport Avenue and Schoolhouse Lane when her car and another collided about 1:20 a.m. at the intersection of Boston Post road and High Street.
Both vehicles sustained heavy damage, DeVito said. The officer was released from Yale-New Haven Hospital; the driver of the other vehicle was released from the hospital and the passenger admitted for possible upper torso injuries, police said.
Police later arrested the men, David Elliston, Ronaldo Beckett, Akeem Mitchell, Overton Rowe and Christopher Campbell, at the Motel 6 on Schoolhouse Road here where they had holed up.
Bridgeport police said shortly after midnight Sunday, the five men burst into a birthday party on Bunnell Street, robbing the partygoers at gunpoint.
The car was later tracked in Milford.
“The Milford Police Department was notified by hotline and the victim’s vehicle was located. Milford police ...detained two suspects.” Bridgeport police said.
Bridgeport officers learned that one of the males had rented a room at the Motel 6 in Milford, police said.
“A follow up was conducted where three more suspects were located and detained,” Bridgeport police said. “A search of the room conducted by officers on scene located three firearms, narcotics, wallets and cell phones belonging to the victims of the robbery, vehicle keys and several ski masks.”
Bridgeport police said Beckett was linked to a Colt firearm seized at the motel; Rowe was linked to a Ruger .38 and a Berretta confiscated by officers.
The Bridgeport robbery squad later went to 1830 Park Ave. where the five males said they lived.
At that address, police said they found the males’ passports in a room along with several shell casings for the firearms found at the motel, several cell phones and clothing matching the description related to several robberies in the area over the past several weeks, including one on Laurel Avenue in Bridgeport.
The five men were charged with first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, criminal use of a firearm, possession of a firearm without a permit, reckless endangerment and three counts of third-degree larceny.
