Garvin,OK : 'Joe Exotic' hospitalized after crash in Garvin County on January, Tuesday 2nd 2018

The man known to Oklahomans as "Joe Exotic" is in the hospital after a crash Tuesday in Garvin County.

Shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday, gubernatorial candidate Joe Maldonado was traveling north on a county road when he failed to yield at a stop sign and was hit by a pickup truck, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol accident report. Maldonado was taken to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

Someone posted on Maldonado's Facebook page that he broke his femur, shoulder and neck. Hospital officials said Maldonado is in good condition.

Maldonado is best known as the park director at the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park.
