STOCKTON, IL : Three-vehicle crash on U.S. 20 in Jo Daviess County on Sunday, 20th May 2018

An 88-year-old Yorkville man has been identified as the man killed in Sunday’s three-vehicle crash on U.S. 20 in Jo Daviess County.

Fred R. Krischon died in the crash, according to a news release issued Monday by Illinois State Police District 16.

Other vehicle occupants were airlifted to hospitals with serious injuries. The crash occurred about 1:45 p.m. Sunday on U.S. 20 just east of Mapes Road and west of Stockton.

According to police, a Mercedes SUV was traveling west on U.S. 20 near Lyons Hill when it crossed the centerline and made contact with the rear of an eastbound semi tractor-trailer and then collided head-on with a GMC pickup also traveling eastbound.

The crash remains under investigation.
