Altamonte Springs, FL : One person killed in car crash in Altamonte Springs State Roads 434 on Friday October 16 2015


A deadly crash in Altamonte Springs killed a man and an infant and left a woman in the car in grave condition after police said an elderly woman crashed into several vehicles stopped at a red light Friday morning.
The crash happened before 11 a.m. near the intersection of State Roads 434 and 436. Police said a woman driving a green sedan never hit the brakes and crashed through a four-door vehicle, killing a baby who was strapped into a car seat in the backseat.Police said the woman was traveling at a high rate of speed. The speed limit in the area is 45 MPH.
A man and woman were in the same car as the child. Both were taken to the hospital, and the man has since died. The woman remains in critical condition, police said.
Throughout the afternoon, investigators could be seen working at the crash – including removing baby bottles and placing them into diaper bag.
I heard screeching, tires, I kind of braced myself for impact because I felt like I was going to get hit. I saw a car fly up in my peripheral,” said Lauren Yarko, whose car was only a few feet from the accident.
The elderly woman driving the green vehicle was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries, but police said she was alert after the crash.
Two other people in other vehicles were also taken to the hospital with injuries.
A total of six vehicles, including a tractor-trailer, were involved in the crash. None of the other vehicles were moving at the time of the accident.Mark Weaver was waiting in his semi-truck at the light when the car crash into his truck’s front bumper.
